The relationship between an Approved Training Organization ATO, National Training Organization NTO and Non-Approved Training Provider N-ATP
One of the most frequent questions asked concerns the relationship between EASA approved training organization ATO Part 147 and National Training Organization NTO.
Typically, this relates to the fundamental misunderstanding regarding the role of an EASA Part 147 approval to perform maintenance aviation training. EASA Part 147 approved training organizations ATO are allowed, to provide maintenance aviation training for PART 66 licensed aircraft engineers to qualify certifying staff. A National Training Organization is an approved training organization by the national authority. They are able to perform maintenance training and/ or regulatory training. All other Training provider, called Non-Approved Training Provider NATP, are mostly providing regulatory training. Therefore, NATP’s shall keep the high standard in terms of regulation by the EASA Part 147 requirements, towards safety and quality to assure equal training quality. ATO’s and NTO’s are mostly published by the national aviation authority.
