The relationship between an What is the difference in between Certified Staff C/S and Component Certified Staff CC/S
C/S is allowed to release to service an aircraft or major components (engine or APU) described by the MOE. Component Certifying staff is allowed to release aircraft major components and single parts such units and/or piece parts. Both roles are described by the EASA and qualifications are regulated for their scope of work by component rating. Both have to show a high standard of qualifications gained by training, experience and/or equivalency check out. See EASA user guide UG.CAO.00126-003 22/10/2015 CC/S and UG.CAO.00121-004 17/06/2019 C/S. Either C/S or CC/S have to be qualified and proofed competent before authorized by the MRO organization. Such initial competence assessment shall be initiated after 6 months of the start period before a person will be authorized C/S / CC/S and in the time period of two year to proof recent experience, knowledge and understanding.
